 L4 ICW and Update October 8 - October 11, 2023

Narragansett, Rhode Island

I will run an L4 coastal kayak instructor certification workshop (ICW) and instructor update based out of Narraganset, Rhode Island. The ICW /Update will focus on continuing the education of sea kayak instructors with four central goals. 

• Help instructors optimize student learning in the open water environment.
• Prepare instructors to structure and deliver authentic ACA assessments.
• Certify and update L4 ACA instructors.
• Have fun, make friends, and network.

If you are an L4 assessed paddler, an L3 instructor, and ready to up your game, then this course is for you.  And if you don't meet the prerequisites, you might still have a great time and learn a lot as a practice student, so reach out.  If you have already been certified as an L4 instructor and are ready for an update, or just generally interested in continuing your learning and having a fun time on the water, we'd love to see you.

The price for the 4 day course is $675. Spaces are limited and available on a first come first serve basis.  A down payment of $100 is required to reserve you space.  All final payments must be made before the course starts.  Down payments made after June 15 will incur a $50 late charge, since the plans we make depend on how many people we're expecting.  Payments can be made via Venmo or Zelle to KayakDov@gmail.com, check or cash.

We are renting a house in Narraganset which course participants will be invited to stay at and share the cost of.  Accommodations are not covered in course fees.

I am an experienced teacher with over 4,500 expedition nautical miles under my belt. Everything that can go wrong, has happened to me, and I have a track record of making sure it doesn't happen to my students.
