Experienced expedition paddler Dov Neimand and wizard on the water Dale Williams will be running an L3 coastal kayak instructor development workshop (IDW) followed by an L3 coastal kayak instructor certification exam (ICE) in Jamaica Bay and off Breezy Point.  The focus of the IDW will revolve around four central goals.

  • Prepare instructor candidates for for their L3 instructor certification exam.
  • Help instructor candidates to develop a solid individual kayaking pedagogy.
  • Sharpen and develop candidates personal paddling and group management skills in L3 conditions.
  • Have fun, make friends, network, and sing kumbaya. (disclaimer: no singing is likely to take place, but we can always hope.)

The ICE will additionally focus on the following.
  • Accurately assess and certify paddlers at their teaching level up to L3.

If you are an L3 assessed paddler and ready to start teaching others, then this course if for you.  If you are not an L3 paddler, but think you might have what it takes, reach out to me and we’ll talk.
